An Award from BonjourRomance

Why go on when Oprah is leaving in 2011? Or, the prelude to my award speech.

Well it appears the Mayan calendar was correct after all, for if Oprah goes off the air how does civilization go on? And what will I aspire to? We, all of us, have dreamt of the moment when we arrive to the leave of success that lands us on the Oprah show.

Only now, she is retiring and with all the celebrities who will no doubt be biding for their last shot at the O, what chance does obscure little old me have that doesn’t involve the grotesque or the extraordinary? Hell, it's damn near impossible to get studio audience tickets let alone that coveted seat across from the queen of talk.

Still, I don’t despair for I’m pretty sure I can pull off world peace by 2011. And if not that, there is always the chance I could uncover the truth about the disappearance of the Lindbergh baby... Or even get a clear and undisputable photo of the Loch Ness monster having tea with the Yeti.

Either way, I’ll find away to make it on that sofa across from Oprah before that last air date. So leave your name if you want a shout out.

Until then there is an honour I was given which I’d like to share. It was a lovely blog award given to me by BonjourRomance from http://bonjourromance.blogspot.com/. For this honour I am supposed to:1) Copy and paste the award and post a link to the blog that nominated me.
2) Tell seven things about myself (those you will find below).
3) Nominate seven other bloggers and pass the award along, (that I’ll do in a day or two).

My deepest gratitude to Mimi Bleu at http://bonjourromance.blogspot.com/ for this lovely award.

Here now, my Seven Things, done in the great tradition of the Questionnaires of James Lipton, Bernard Pivot, and Marcel Proust.

1. What quality do you most admire in a man? Honour, for a man without good character is but a creature to be pitied and distrust.2. What quality do you most admire in a woman? Femininity, for it takes strength and tremendous character to maintain ones femininity in this life.3. What sound or noise do you love? The sheer brilliance of Luis Alberto Spinetta, voice at 1:11 of Color Humano by Almendra.4. What sound or noise do you hate? The ones in my head that tell me I Can’t, I Shouldn’t and I'm Stupid.5. What is your favorite curse word? Fucker. It's the best for it’s a building word and one can add to it… Motherfucker, Silly-fucker, Dumb-fucker etc.6. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Music7. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? You only half-believed, but you are still welcome here.
Here is a list of my fellow nominees.

Each of there blogs is beautiful and I encourage you all to follow the links an visit them.

  2. Bonjour! I thank you for visiting my blog! I always wonder how new people find me, but I see that you know Mimi and Bonjour Romance! You say that you want to be a cook, but your writing style is absolutely intriging! You have a lot of talent! I live in Minnesota, so I understand your plight not being able to grow rosemary!!! Please come again, Anita

  10. I have just gotten into Tasha Alexander's Lady Ashton novels. As a woman, a dreamer, a mystery writer and a romantic at heart they are a wonderful combination. But I would love your take on them...Do you have an opinion? Have you read any of the series?

  15. Dearest,
I am back. You know what, I think the best image to represent my blog,is the opening drawing by Gruau in the header; I can send you a screen capture of it, if you send me your email address, or perhaps you could do the screen capture yourself if you prefer. It's up to you.
Ciao bella, and bravo again & thanks again for thinking about me!
